I ended up using oil pastels to create and abstract potrait.

​The person I picked to create the portrait of is my boyfriend Nich, and I honestly picked him because it was my first idea.

Take a look at the piece, decscribe what is on the surface and what you see (texture, color, size, shape). Anazlyze what you see and what you described. Try and gather the different elements of the piece together and interpret what the artist is trying to say and why. Try and discover what event may have driven the artist to create the piece in the certain style it was made in. Look back on everything you've done and find out how important the art is.

When I look at the piece I see a much more detailed background than the objects on the surface. I see a mixture of colors often found in a sunset, but no sun. Silloutes of almost dead like trees and a few birds. The silloutes give off a darker more depressed vibe but the background lets you know there is light in the piece. In interspersing you may find out that the artist it trying to say even in dark or sad times there is always a light underneath, or a "light at the end of the tunnel".

1. Art is a definition of an idea sometimes without words but more depicted with colors, shapes, or different materials.
4. An artists childhood or personal connections with others can inspire them to make art. An artist might want to make a difference in a community in neighborhood and make art as well.
8. When we did spheres and shading it helped me in future pieces even with acrylic or charcoal.

i chose to do an acrylic painting for my project, I picked this because I wanted a second chance at acrylic paint because I felt I could do more than what we did in the previous project. I always loved the zoo so I wanted to work with that and I was on pinterest and found 2 paintings that inspired me. I started to create a background with watered down acrylic and then waiting til that dried to add more red and orange into it. After that I put the siloutte of the tree and elephant in black. I would definately try to make the tree skinnier and more detailed if I did the painting again.

1. I made a kayak and I built it out of clay
2. I own kayaks and I thought it was a good twist on a normal tray.
3. I think the seat is the most successful, I carved it out to make the kayak have very realistic features.
4. I definately would if there was room in my schedule.

i decided at this point in my planning I was going to do a tray made out of clay. I made it to resemble a kayak because I kayak and I own two, and my dad kayaks with me so I though of the idea that I could give it to him for Christmas.

4. Not finished, stippling the whole piece so it will take time, if it continues on the path it's on it will look good!

I started with a sketch in my notebook and traced off of that on a piece of rubber. I then carved out my image and figured out what spaces I wanted black and what spaces I wanted white. I feel like I incorporated the theme of line in the background when I carved the swirled lines to make the piece feel more fantasy. I feel like the mushroom was the best and most well done part of the piece and If i were to go back I would probably eliminate the snail and clean up the background.

the idea of installation is to create art that interacts with a community and gets a message out. I think this installation depicts love, which it was intended to do. Definately if I had an opportunity to redo this installation project I would make the scale larger and find a way to add elements to make it 3D.

my acrylic still life piece started out being objects in my room and after many failed attempts I decided to take a new direction and thought of the idea of a fruit bowl in a kitchen the photo on the left is the finished piece and the photo on the right was about two days in progress. The use of acrylic paint made it much easier to texture the painting and was definately the best choice of medium I could've picked. I would've definately given my painting a more thought out plan next time so I don't have to redo it. I guess a fruit bowl In a kitchen brings out that fact that I am a vegitarian and try my best to eat healthy.

This is place is important because it showcases the beauty of the sky with the detail of a tree but the colors are shown in the sky. It makes a person solely see colors in the sky can create. Mixing water color was definately a benefit but I would probably use a different approach next time on the trees. I used water color because I thought that it would be easier and more tactful to paint a sky with that medium.
